We are Jeremy and Birgit and have two children: Lindsay, 13 years old, and Sydney, 11 years old. We currently live in the beautiful Putten on the Veluwe. We are both self-employed and were looking for a nice investment project. In addition, we also wanted to explore possibilities to live in a sunny environment. At the right time, we came across Wakahchan. In addition to the fact that we found an interesting investment project, it also appealed to us enormously to live there. 

Before we went to Mexico, we had never been to the country. Jeremy already had experience with South American countries, so he already had an idea of what to expect. We immersed ourselves in the project, the culture and the climate. After a year of preparation, it was finally time last summer that we went to Mexico to explore. This holiday was decisive, because after a month of traveling around the Yucatan area, we decided to buy a house in the beautiful Wakahchan project. 

In addition to the breathtaking landscape with lots of greenery, jungle and an abundance of beautiful sounds and butterflies, the people are very friendly. The weather is fantastic and everything you need is within easy reach in Playa del Carmen. Although Playa del Carmen may be touristy, it makes it easy for us as Westerners to find our way around. Many people speak English and you can find everything you want there. 

Fortunately, our children are also fully behind this step. Although it will bring many changes for them, they are also very much looking forward to it. Their enthusiasm makes the choice a lot easier for us. We believe that this special and challenging step is not only good for us, but will also be a valuable experience for them. It offers us all the opportunity to learn and grow, both as individuals and as a family.

We currently live in a village, and we really like it. We believe that WakahChan will also feel like a small village, filled with people who share the same mindset: people who are looking for peace, freedom, and the space to discover what they are good at, while having a positive outlook on life. In this way, Wakahchan will really flourish. 

During the meetings about Wakahchan that we attended, we only met nice, enthusiastic people. This gave us a very positive feeling and strengthened our confidence in this step. 

The main reason for our decision to move to Mexico is the Wakahchan project, which appeals to us in several ways. What immediately attracted us is the unique combination that the project offers. On the one hand, you can live in the middle of the beautiful, lush jungle, completely surrounded by nature. This feeling of connection with nature, with its rich biodiversity and serene environment, is something we have longed for. On the other hand, Wakahchan embraces a holistic lifestyle, focused on balance, well-being and personal growth. This fits perfectly with our own values and way of life, in which we want to make conscious choices that are good for both ourselves and the environment. 

What makes Wakahchan even more attractive is that in addition to this peace and connection with nature, it also offers the necessary luxury. It is a place where you can retreat in comfort, without compromising on the modern conveniences that are important to us. At the same time, there is plenty of room to go your own way, follow your own passions and interests, and live a life that suits us completely.
