As we bid farewell to 2024, it’s time to celebrate the milestones, challenges, and triumphs that have defined WakahChan’s extraordinary journey over the past year. What started as a bold dream has blossomed into a remarkable reality, driven by unwavering dedication, innovative thinking, and the collective efforts of an exceptional team.

Last year, we achieved milestones that once felt like distant aspirations, overcame challenges that tested our resilience, and forged a path marked by growth and transformation. As we look back on 2024, we are reminded that the power of a shared vision and relentless determination can turn dreams into realities.

The Dream

WakahChan | Playa Del Carmen | The Dream

It all started with a dream—a vivid and heartfelt vision that struck Bart during a quiet night under a sprawling star-filled sky.

Bart often spoke of how the dream felt more like a calling than mere imagination. In it, he saw a vibrant community nestled in the embrace of nature, where people lived in harmony with their surroundings and each other. It was more than just an eco-village; it was a holistic way of life, a sanctuary where modern living and ancient wisdom coexisted seamlessly.

This vision became the seed of what would later bloom into the WakahChan estate project.

Planting the Seed

Inspired and determined, Bart took the first step by sharing his dream on Social media. In a heartfelt post, he described his vision of a holistic village where sustainable design, community living, and wellness were woven into the fabric of daily life.

To his surprise, the posts went viral, resonating deeply with thousands of people around the world.

The overwhelming response was a clear sign: Bart had tapped into something universal—a longing for a more meaningful and harmonious way of living. Messages poured in from strangers who wanted to know more, offering encouragement and sharing their own dreams of similar spaces.

Starting the team

Buoyed by this support, Bart gathered a close-knit group of friends and collaborators, to explore the possibilities.

At first, the idea of building something so ambitious felt almost audacious.
But Bart’s unwavering enthusiasm, coupled with the viral momentum of his posts, ignited a sense of belief in all of us.

Sketching, Brainstorming and Refining

Together, we began to imagine what this vision could become.
We started small, sketching out ideas, spending countless days brainstorming and refining.

What would such a village look like?
How would it function?
Could we integrate cutting-edge green technology while preserving the soul of traditional practices?

Each question brought us closer to a shared vision: WakahChan, a village unlike any other.

Finding the Land

WakahChan | Playa Del Carmen | The Land

The dream needed roots, and finding the right land was our first real test. We scoured the Riviera Maya for months, exploring everything from dense jungles to coastal plains.

Then, we found it—a plot of land that seemed to hum with energy, bordered by lush greenery and close enough to vibrant local communities to foster connection while still offering a sense of tranquility.

The land spoke to us, and we knew it was the perfect canvas.  But acquiring it wasn’t easy.
There were negotiations, logistical hurdles, and moments of doubt.
Yet, with persistence, we secured it. The dream of WakahChan was finally beginning to take shape.

Building the Vision

Turning the dream of WakahChan into reality will require expertise, passion, and relentless effort. Architects and designers will be entrusted with translating the ideas into tangible plans, ensuring that every design embodies the harmony between modern living and natural beauty

We will insist on sustainable materials and eco-friendly construction practices, committing to protect the land’s integrity. Every step, from breaking ground to the final touches, will honor the environment that makes WakahChan so unique.

Visualizing The Vision

WakahChan | House Type-2

The vision includes homes that seamlessly blend into the landscape, community spaces that foster connection, and amenities designed to nurture both body and mind.

Yoga pavilions will rise in serene spots, permaculture gardens will bloom with life, and walking paths will weave through the trees, offering peaceful moments for reflection and discovery.

Our goal is to create not just a place to live but a sanctuary that inspires well-being and community.

The Community Takes Root

WakahChan | Playa Del Carmen | Community Building

When the time comes to welcome the first residents, it won’t just be about selling homes—it will be about inviting people to join a movement. Those who come to WakahChan will be seeking something deeper than a new address; they’ll be searching for a new way of living.

As families settle in, gardens begin to flourish, and shared spaces come alive with activity, the community will take on a life of its own. Bonds will form over shared meals, yoga classes, and quiet conversations under the stars. WakahChan will become a place where people feel connected to each other and the world around them.

Whats Next?

As we close the chapter on 2024, WakahChan stands poised for an even more exciting future. The next steps are clear: securing our funding, laying the foundation for a thriving community, and gearing up for the start of (pre)sales.

These milestones mark the beginning of a new phase in our journey—one where the dreams we’ve worked so hard to realize will begin to take shape in the world.

With your continued support and our shared vision, we are confident in the road ahead. Together, we’ll build something extraordinary. Here’s to turning the next page and making 2025 even more impactful!
